We Pray for Yueyue Recovery

Watching the news about a 2 years toddler named Yueyue in Fohsan China hit by van and small lorry catch my attention. I'm following her news in the news locally as well as news from Internet.
My logical mind cannot accept the cruel behavior the people who hit her and people who saw her but choose to ignore. Such an ignorance in my view. There is 19 people saw her but choose not to help. What in their mind?
We can blame the parents for not looking after their children but when an incident where people not helping when somebody is hurt inform of their very eye catch my attention.
I don't dare to see the video in youtube as is so disturbing to see. For the driver, those people as no conscience as well. The first drive who hit her also aware that he had hit the Yueyue but choose not to help. Such an idiot and selfish.
We are praying for Yueyue fast recovery and may God bless her. People in this world is changing and slowly loosing their sense of conscience. May God bless as all as well.

Rocelyn Deserve Her Salary

Rocelyn Tubal Reneses is fighting for her right to against her former employee Port View Seafood Village Sdn Bhd of wages/salary amounting RM4,232.70. This cases have been in Labour court and move on to High Court, still Port View Seafood Village Sdn Bhd still disputing the wages/salary claim by Rocelyn.
I think, I'm agree that the overtime rate is based on the basic salary but unnecessary deduction for work pass, hair clip, walkie talkie and uniforms is too way far. Even if they are contract staff the company should provided those item. What a stingy restaurant.
Besides that, the restaurant also dragging this issue for quite sometimes by not attending court hearing as they know her visa expires on 16 Nov 2010.
We hope the court ruling is in favor to Rocelyn. As a human, she deserve what she had work for. And as for the restaurant, don't just making money out of others misery and taking advantage of poor uneducated people.
People should boycott this restaurant for treating their employer badly. Shame on you Port View Seafood Village Sdn Bhd. Shame on you.

Sabah Still The Poorest State

Referring to Online Daily Express report on 11 Nov 2010, World Bank reported that Sabah still the poorest state in Malaysia. Many Malaysian know this as well as Sabahan themselves.

It sad to see Sabah is still rated one of the poorest state. In my opinion, the reports correctly said that majority of the poor family are located in rural area. Most of them are working on their own to support their family. If they are working for somebody, the pay is not enough to support their family. One example, when i was working in Keninagu, the security guard pay to for a month to look after our office is only RM400. What you can buy with RM400 now days? If you have kids and it definitely not enough.

Our government have a long way to increase standard of living for this rural area as majority Sabahan still staying in rural area. There is a lot of infrastructure need to be build before we can achieve this. We hope the government really look at this issue.

No comment or suggestion from me as this is a very broad topic.

Heavy chargers for baby dumpers

The media had reported many baby dumping cases recently. Body in dustbin, body found by scavenger and baby girl found in factory dustbin. This show we human had become so evil due to pressure of having baby outside the wedding wedlock. Sure enough, the women who in stress can only thinking of dumping their child.
The government had create a baby hatch set up by ORPHANCare on 29 May 2010. This is a good decision. On 13 August, the cabinet decided that baby dumpers will be charger with murder (www.thestar.com.my). Both is a good decision to reduce the baby dumping by the mother/parents. Definitely, if this decision is not make, more and more baby dump by the irresponsible mother/parents. I'm happy that we have this to reduce the baby dumping. But, bare in mind this is a short term solution. If we want to reduce pregnancies, sex education is must put in place. To do this is a gargantuan task and school curriculum have to be change.
Sex education should not only limited to school, the Churches also play and important role to educate its followers about this. In Sunday School, there should be some time allocated for sex education and it consequences.
It's sad to see in the news everyday about baby dumping. The parents also have the responsibility to play when educating their children. As Jackie Chan said in the movie The Karate Kid, 'There is no bad student, only bad teachers'. I am a parent myself, let us educate our children about this problem. Not to encourage them to have sex but to educate them the consequences.

Subsidy cutting by Malaysia Government

Starting today, RON 95 is RM1.85 (RON 97 is RM2.10, diesel is RM1.75), sugar is at RM1.90 per kg and LPG is at RM1.85 per kg.
Once again we have to live with higher living cost as this subsidy cut will affect prices of other product and services. Drinking at mamak stall will be more expensive and also travelling will be more costly. The government have all the right to cut this subsidy since it involve a lot sum of money and it cost the country dearly.
The government should look at the affected people such as low income people who depend on public transport to move around. I agree with FOMCA secretary-general Muhd Sha’ani Abdullah to review the bus fare to ensure those low income people are not badly affected with this hike. With this, many people will chose to travel with public transport.
Whatever the cut it, it definelty going to affect those low income citizen as they depend much on public transport. With the hike in petrol and diesel price, supplier will always use this excuse to increase their goods price. The government also have to control some of the product such as fish, meet and also vegetable because the price surely going up after this. Those responsible people have to go down to market frequently to check on irresponsible supplier or seller.

I had add my Frico Induction Cooker recently at www.mudah.com.my. Within 1 day after the add had been approved by mudah.com.my, one buyer claiming to be Mrs. Janet Stone from USA want to buy the product. She said it will be delivered to her boss daugter in West Africa. I dont think this buyer is serious enough in this transaction. The freight to send the item to Africa is RM1,500 and the product is RM1,700. She can buy brand new induction cooker in the State and deliver it to her boss daugher in West Africa. Not logical for a buyer to spend USD820 just to buy a induction cooker here in Malaysia as she can source it at her country. The payment according to her is via bank to bank transfer. I plan not to go futher with this deal as i also have been coned in mudah.com.my in 2008.
In 2008 i lost RM300 to a seller by the name of abigailteh89@yahoo.com (Hp:013-3318843)who sell PS 2. She claim she from Sarawak she ask to bank in the money to her boyfrined by the name of LEE CHEE KEONG (Maybank account # : 1101150072345). The item never sent to me. Polica report have been made but so far no news from them. I browse through the net and found not only me have been conned by seller in mudah.com.my. So have to be extra careful next time.

All hail the new World Cup Champion Spain. Andres Iniesta goal make it happen when he score the only goal in the match between Spain and Netherlands.
Also, all hail Paul the Octopus for make 100% wright prediction. Truly unbelievable as Paul correctly predict all the match winner including match between Germany and Uruguay.

As the world cup ended, there is some tears and joy to those had participate in the game. And we will have to wait for another 4 years for the world cup in Brazil 2014.

The Germans and Paul the Phycic Octopus

Until to this stage (World Cup 2010 Semifinal), there is 2 major issue which mostly discussed by football fan.

1. Who will be the World Cup 2010 winner? Could it be Netherlands, Germany or Spain.
2. AND Paul the phycic Octopus prediction

Today, in the news, its have been reveald that Paul had choose Spain to win the match between Germany vs Spain. Its surely heartbroken those Germans since Paul had the tendecy to pick Germany in his previous pick (expect for match between Germany and Serbia).

Its will be insteresting to see how Paul prediction become reality tomorrow (9 July 2010) when the match ended. Hopefully the Germans dont kill Paul if their team lose to Spain tomorrow. Or, if ther Germans wins, they shoudl release him back to the place where he belong.

I will be beating on Spain to win the 2010 World Cup and if they does win, i plan stop eating octopus/squids for 4 years (until to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil).

Go Spain, beat those Germans.

Sugar Refinery in Sabah

Reading the Daily Express newspaper today, the government is proposing sugar refinery in Sabah. Thats a good news for us in Sabah or Sarawak i believe as we facing a lot of sugar shortage as well as price difference with peninsular Malaysia.
This was announce by Domestic Trade, Co-operatives, and Consumerism minister Datuk Ismail Sabri. Sabah in the past also have their own sugarcane plantation and sugar refinery manage by Gula Sabah Sdn Bhd. It was a history now.
Lets hope the government is sincerely enough with the projects this time. I believe it bring more good than harm if they build the sugar refinery plus the sugarcane plantation.
If the government want to built a sugar refinery, please look at Pitas area or Kimanis/Bongawan area. This should help those people stay there by providing them job opportunity.
With the sugar refinery build in Sabah, this should lower the sugar price as by now mostly sugar were imported from peninsular especially Perlis.

Company responsibility - Maternity Leave

I found one interesting opinion from The Star online by Marisa Demori of Ipoh on the Maternity Leave (Ridiculously generous benefit will bankrupt many firms – 24 May 2010). Marisa is responding on Rueben Dudley article on Star as well (Stay in step with the ILO on maternity leave – 21 May 2010).

According to Marisa, pregnant woman should resign or take unpaid leave and back to work when the child is big enough. I’m agree with Marisa on the lost of time and production during the absence of female employee due to maternity leave. But I disagree with Marisa on asking them to resign or taking unpaid leave.

My reason is:
1.It’s a woman right to entitle for a leave during confinement (Marisa should know about the after giving birth pantang and breastfeeding the child).
2.Is a woman duty to give birth to our future generation.
3.There is a society issue involve. What happen if the woman is sole breadwinner or single mother. If she resigns, does Marisa think she can easily find a job as Marisa said there is other people out there also needed the job. I think the family will face more problems after that.
4.I never heard of a company in Malaysia or others country that bankrupt because to many female employees on maternity leave (many factories in Malaysia employ woman).

In my opinion, a company should look at their staff welfare and not focus on making big bucks only. Bear in mind that a company success is not achieve by one person only. Not just because a woman taking maternity leave for 2 months, a company disregard her contribution to the company in the past and ask her to take unpaid leave or resign.

"BIN" and "BINTI" In Sabah, Malaysia

Every year in local newspaper we see issue on 'Bin' and "Binti'. This words are meant for Muslim which referring to 'son of' or 'daughter of'. But in Sabah, this words have been using for sometimes and also used by non Muslim. Even my parents have this words on their identification cards.

I have two reason why this issue happen:
1. Back in earlier 1900, many Sabah resident are not educated and when they register their son/daughter birth, they relay on other people to do it. If the registration department put it 'bin' or 'binti', the parents wont know. Back then, the usage of 'bin' and 'binti' is not big issue. Others can use it can nobody care.
2. There is no guidelines on the usage of 'bin' and 'binti' given by authorities. The registration personnel or the hospital just put it in and parents also don't double check.

My suggestion to this problem is:
1. Registration department should came out with memo the front people at registration department or hospital to restricted this 'bin' or 'binti' for Muslims only.
2. When registering their son/daughter birth with Registration department, parents should check also if the words 'bin' or 'binti' it not used if they are non Muslim. The front office personnel also have the responsibility to correct this problem. If we do it right at the first time, then this issue wont arise.

Tagal System

Im one of the participating Tagal member in Kg. Timpoluon, Penampang, Sabah. This is my view on this system;

First of all, we need to know the word ‘Tagal’ means. In Dusun language, “Tagal’ mean “No Need” or “Don’t”. In Sabah, Tagal system is widely use by villagers to protect the fresh water fish stock. Many districts had implemented this likes Penampang, Kota Belud, Papar and Tuaran.

Reasons for this system to be implemented are:
i. Make sure stock of fresh water fish not affected + fresh water fish existence
ii. Reduce over harvesting of fish using poison or electric current

In order to implement the system, a committee needs to be set up to run the Tagal system.
The committee tasks are:
i. Setting the Tagal boundary (staring point and end point).
ii. Set up a penalty for those who caught catching fish in the Tagal area. Penalty usually as monetary, animals (buffalo or pig) or both. Each member will be given the law (book).
iii. Setting a red zone (cannot catch fish in this area) and green zone (section of the river who member can catch fish one the river is open up).
iv. Setting up team to patrol the Tagal area.

The system only working if the participating member honor the Tagal law which they cannot catch fish unless is open. Besides that, they have to report to the Tagal committee if somebody is caught fishing in the Tagal area.

Win RM7,000 from Celcom - This is scam

Today i receive phone call from somebody claiming from Celcom. He mention that my phone number been selected and win a price of RM7,000. He want to transfer the money to me. I told him I'm using CIMB account but he only want to transfer the money to Maybank. When i told him i don't have Maybank account, he ask any of my friends who can loan their account. I don't want to involve any of my friends into this scam. So he agree to use CIMB bank to transfer the money. He also ask how much money i have in my CIMB account? (if want to give me money, why ask how much money i have in that account?)
Why not just send the cheque? For me this man have an Terengganu accent and doesn't sound convincing. I surf the Internet then and found not only me have receive such call.
Be carefull with your bank personal information and don't release it somebody you doesn't know.

Lad leff sweating in the car

Reading Daily Express newspaper on Tuesday (27 October 2009) regarding to a boy left by his father in the car under the hot sun.
It was touching and sad to see this kind of bad behaviour. If I look at the picture, the boy is weak and sweating heavily. Left behind for 2 hours under the sun i terrible, even me having problem awaiting in car under that condition. This is just a boy who is much more younger.
Today (28 October 2009 - http://www.dailyexpress.com.my/news.cfm?NewsID=68448), I realise that not only me that care about this boy. In the Daily Express newspaper stated that several call actually call in and express their sympathy. I cannot do anything than pray for the little boy that he will be taking care by his father.

I also hope somebody can check the can registration number and subsequently help the family if they manager to locate the house. The father should not let any if his family problem hurt the little boy. We don't want somebody die due to this action then the authorities make some move.

Newborn abondon by parents

I was reading Daily Express newspaper on 13 July and in the front page I see news on newborn baby died and was carry around by a dog. The baby was born nearby and abandon by his or her parents in a drain. Its heart breaking to see this kind of news in the newspaper nowadays. Baby abandon, newborn bodies found floating, dead newborn in plastic and so on. This newborn doesn’t deserve this treatment.
The parents to be should not do this kind of evil act, they should make sure the baby is alive or give him or her to childcare rather than throw them in the dustbin and awaiting the angel of death to come. If the parents are the one who in the newborn baby, what they fell. It’s a gruesome feeling as a mature human being awaiting death in slow and agony. I don’t want to die that way, alone and in pain.
Sure enough the parents don’t want to be caught of is ashamed for their mistake. But are those newborn deserve it. The mother carrying and feed the baby for 9 months and after that just throw the baby away. Are there no sense of love to this newborn or the mother is just too shameful and forget God by killing their newborn.
May all the newborn baby who abandon and died or been killed rest in peace.

Brutality by Snatch Thief and Drugs Addicts

Snatch thief once again become the headlines when 2 pregnant woman die due to their acts (Jamilah Selamay, JB and Saripah Mohd Noor, Kelantan). This issue have been lingering for quite sometimes and this is not the death reported due to snatch thief. Plus numerous reports also on injury due to snatch thief try to take the victim belongings. In today (21 May 2009) newspaper headlines, robbery turn ugly where 3 people murdered. The suspect is on drugs.
Why this people commit this act? Are they not respecting other people life? For me, they only thinking of their own needs and don't care much about other even their act take someone life. The worst thing is, the snatch thief in Johor using the money he stole to go for date with his girlfriend. Addiction to drugs also forcing this people to do this crime. They became more bolder and more determine when committing the crime.
I'm suggesting (for snatch thief);
1. Death penalty if the victim is died
2. Whipping
3. Longer term in jail/life term is victim is died

Drugs addicts -
1. Longer terms in jail/life term

With longer term in jail, i hope this people wont be around for quite sometimes and also be a lesson to the other snatch thief or drugs addicts.

Class 97 5C SMK DPM Reunion

First off all, i would like to thank Mr. Alex Chin for arranging the 1st reunion for 5C Class 1997 SMK Datuk Peter Mojuntin. I did not expect to have reunion this year as everyone is busy with their job. After 1997, everyone goes to their own path. Some getting married and now happily with husband/wife and children (including me lah..)
Even though the attendance is not encouraging, but its a good start. We don't expect at the 1st reunion everyone can spare some times that they have. So, the reunion was done on 2 May 2009 at Karamunsing KK Box (hopefully i spell the name correctly). we hope in the 2nd reunion the attendance is more encouraging and hopefully to see all 5C ex students to be there.

Earth Hour - 28-03.2009

Exactly 8.30pm on 28 March 2009, the Earth Hour program started worldwide. Sabah one of the state in Malaysia also participating in this program. I am staying in Kg. Babagon Penampang and also eager to participate in this awareness campaign by WWF Malaysia.
At 8.30pm, 95% of the houses in Kg. Babagon are in total darkness to show support Earth Hour campaign. I also did not expect that my fellow villagers aware about this campaign. It’s encouraging seeing people are aware and participates in this program. On the other hand, it was promoted in the newspaper as well as in the news.
This is merely an awareness campaign and I don’t think switching off light for one hour make a huge difference. But the education taken from this program is that we should using less fossil fuel or anything that can produce carbon dioxide. I saw in the television that if we continue to produce carbon dioxide, in the near future the world will be become hotter and this can cause problem to the weather pattern. That’s why we can see fire in Australia, melting iceberg, typhoon, flood, unusual rain pattern, unusual hot wheatear, long drought and increasing of sea water level.
I also want people to use less plastic bag in their daily life because this can cause damage to the environment. As we know, plastic take years to decompose. I also want to encourage Malaysian people to use paper bag whenever they go shopping of use basket when they go market.
We hope WWF and earth people continue to support such program in the future so that people are aware of the danger of global warming.

KK City Tourism Treasure Hunt 2009 is back

I'm browsing the Internet today looking for more info on the KK City Tourism Treasure Hunt 2009. I stumble upon Mr. Long blog and subsequently email Ms. Fauziahton from DBKK for the form.
I participate twice in this same event before and found it interesting. Even though you will be mentally and physically challenging but hey..its worth it. My team never won also but we are gathering some experience.
This year the fee is RM250.00 increase RM50 from previous Treasure Hunt and the date line to submit enrollment is on the 16 Feb 2009. I'm looking for forward to call all my team again (me, juicyana, Linus and Santini) for this Treasure Hunt even though I'm at Keningau and they at Kota Kinabalu.

But beware, some of the advertiser there is fake. They ask you to bank in the money but the item will never come. This is my experience, I bought PS2 through mudah.com.my from a lady name Abigail Teh (abigailteh89@yahoo.com). I paid the money to her boyfriend Maybank (account number: 101150072345). Currently I already waited for 1 month and a half for the item. She never reply my email and when I call her hp it diverted to voice mail.
This is a bad imej projection to those a really sincere to do business using Internet. We hope the advertiser provider such as mudah.com.my, ebay, lelong.com or any advertiser website to help curb the real culprits.
As www.mudah.com.my always advise, don't pay any cents to the advertiser until you receive the goods.

Forex Scam in internet

Early 2008 i was involve in Forex trading manage Info Perfect Resources based in Kampung Air Kota Kinabalu Sabah. This company headquartes based Hong Kong that time.
I lost sum of money and found out that the company is a fraud and they cheat people money. I had make a police report on this matter but so far no call from police on the investigation progress.
I the middle of this month, somedaby by the name of Kahar Jamaluddin call in saying I have unclaim investment from the previous company that i had invest. He demanded me to pay US500 to activate my account back and promise that my unclaim investment will be bank in to my account within 3 days. I made the payment and on 29/12/2008 he email me and ask for more security deposit in order to receive my unclaim investment. This is definetly a cheater. I hope God will repay what he had done to me.
Do get yourself involve in this situation. Please do some checking before make decision. You will loose money as long as you allowed yourself to be cheated. Check with Bank Negara Malaysia (www.bnm.gov.my,bnmtelelik@bnm.gov.my) or Security Commssion (www.sc.com.my, aduan@seccom.com.my).

July 1st, 2008. The date that i start working in Sime Darby Industrial Keningau. I have been assign to look after the small branch in this area. Quite a challenging because i will be responsible for the sales and the activities in this small branch.

Sales target have been given and it a big challenge because there is 18% up from previous target. This is sales and marketing, the sales target seldom goes down.

On the other hand, looking at positive prospective, this is a good opportunity for me to move up in my career ladder.

Team 56, Treasure Hunt KK City Tourism

Treasure Hunt organizes by DBKK is back. This year we are joining again and it’s a good feeling to be back. I myself attend the briefing in Dewan Tabung Haji Sembulan. This year goodies are very good, we have X Pac prepaid given plus hand band.

As usual, we participate in this hunt without much preparation. We just go through some simple questions before the racing by hoping we can answer the questions. There are 4 legs in the hunt and the first leg we complete it within the time frame (1 hours and 30 minute). We stuck in the second leg whereby we have to locate clue from the crowded Gaya Market. We spent 1 hour there just to solve 5 questions. This is the turning point of our “main tembak” journey. After we do the challenge in Celcom Wawasan Plaza we straight to Double Six Memorial in Sembulan. We are instructed to take picture there. The rest of the team posing with their best with “Sabah Ethnic” attire and “weapons”. We use umbrella as weapon, newspaper as a “Tanjak” and the goodies bag as a “sarong”. Quite funny when we think back, but we don’t have much choice.

After that we proceed to Kepayan, Lido, Lintas, Damai, Iramanis, Inanam and Jalan Sulaman to locate the answers for the Treasure Hunt clue. All the answer in this is area we “main tembak” only because we don’t have much time to think already. We reach Karambunai at 2.39pm which 10 minutes early (we flag off at 7.49am).

We did not wait long for the prize presentation as we know we will not win anything. By 6.15pm we are on our way home.

To Juicyana Jerome, Happy Birthday to you. We forget to wish your birthday that day (24 Feb). To Team 27, congratulation to Flora because your team won a prize. See you all on 22 Feb 2009 for the next Treasure Hunt.

KBP ZON 1 Babagon

I involve in Christian Youth Development in Zon 1 Babagon area where I am the coordinator for this area. Talking about youth development in term of coming to church, participate in seminars or participate in Parish level activities is the hardest. The youth simply ignore it.

As a coordinator I want youth in my area to be actively involve in the church activities but they seems to go on their own way. We do have youth joining our activities when they feel it exciting. If not you will not receive a good reception.

I try to be more dynamic in planning activities. I realize that any activities should be balance whereby not to much on spiritually but non spiritually as well. Last year activates we went to beach and play fustal as start.

This year will be another challenge for me and my committee to plan activities. It a challenge and we like it.

Since this is my 3rd time participating this Treasure Hunt, we are aming good placement compare to the previous year. Previous year we lost due to lack of Treasure Hunt experiance as well as to arrange the time properly.
I think this event is good for people around Kota Kinabalu. Previous participants also coming all the way from KL and Sarawak. If there is more Treasure Hunt competition, more better it is. In KL, Treasure Hunt is a common event and people are eager to participate. Its enjoying "mah".
At least there is 4 or 5 Treasure Hunt per year will stimulate people interest in this event.

Sabah Youth Day 2

My friends in Christ..
Sabah will organizing SYD 2 which will be held in Ranau Sabah. Its official date is on 19-23 August 2008. Its a good time all the youth all around Sabah or it neighboring country to share Jesus message and love. There will be 36 youth from Zon 1 Babagon will attend this occasion and we happy about it.

The theme is " You will receive POWER when the HOLY SPIRIT has come upon you; and you will be my WITNESS" - ACTS 1: 8 (Taken from SYD 2 web site www.syd08.org).

This year, Catholic youth also celebrating World Youth Day which will be held in Sydney Australia (15-20 July 2008). The theme is same Sabah Youth Day 2 in Sabah. This is theme is selected by His Holiness Pope Benedict 16. You can visit World Youth Day at www.wyd2006.org. I'm not sure how many youth from Sabah will attend this gathering. But for sure anybody go there will feel the happy atmosphere.

KK City Tourism Treasure Hunt 2008

There will be treasue hunt in KK on 24 Feb 2008. This is my 3rd time joining this hunt and it was an amazing experiance joining this event.
So far, my team never win and we hope this time we can bring something though. Any suggestion on internet site for us to check how to solve Treasure Hunt Questions/riddle?

Sutera Harbour Angkatan Hebat Trasure Hunt 2007

Wahhh.. last year we participating the hunt with 3 teams from Tractors Malaysia (1982) Sdn Bhd. As usall, me, Linus, Juicyana and Santini are the 'team'.

This is the 2nd treasure hunt we participate in 2007. Hard man..we all have headace answering the questions they give. I myselfy did not feel hungry just because want to answes the questions.

This is the learning curve for us all and hopefully we will getting better in the following treasure hunt competition.

Last night i was watching the news and its sad to see the war in Africa, Iraq as well as Israel and the Palestinan. Its sad too that innocent people suffer just because somebody want to stand on ther ideology.
Can we make the world a better place to stay?
